Using the Ethical International Recruitment Tool

How to use it.

What does it do?

The Ethical International Recruitment Tool helps in so many ways.

It will help you to:

  • Work out if international recruitment is right for you.

  • Plan an ethical international recruitment process.

  • Understand what you’ll need to do to be compliant.

  • Document your process.

This tool is organised to help you sequence your ethical international recruitment process from planning right through to overseas workers being fully embedded in your team.  

The whole process is broken down into 8 stages, each stage maps to one or more of the Ethical Recruitment Benchmarks. All you have to do is work through the stages in order.

At the start of each stage there’s an explanation about what that stage is for and which benchmark it maps to. Just read the short intro then start working through the ‘task table’. Each section has one of these too. The task tables will help you to plan the entire recruitment process ethically and help you to gather the evidence you’ll need to show you’ve done that.

If you’re already recruiting overseas workers, you may not need to complete each stage and can just choose the stages that are most relevant to you.
